Welcome to this website. We have made it through the winter months and now Spring is coming to life. There are a few new things on the site.
I have enjoyed building up the site and it has led to many lovely conversations so please be in touch. Song, music and poetry create their own space where we can meet. In these times this matters.
The content is free for you to use providing it is for a social purpose. So, for example, social ceilidh bands would be welcome to use the tunes. I’d only ask that you might send me a copy of any recordings you make. If you wish to use it for commercial purposes we need to talk.
If you click on Tom Ling and Friends you will be taken to a concert I gave towards the end of last year with multiple friends at the wonderful Cambridge Folk Club. It was recorded by Jason Cooper and features the musicianship of Rowena Whitehead, Ian Turner, Wendy Hardeman, Nick Barraclough, Dave Olney, Brian Cleary, and Hugh Boyde. Think of it as an old fashioned parlour evening! There are inevitably a few gaffs from me along the way but I decided to leave it as it is – warts and all! Big thanks to my friend Dom Cornford who chunked the recording into manageable introductions and pieces.
I also have three new poems to share – The Story Teller, Saturday Night at the Fish and Piano Bar, and Everyone Smiles at an Older Man Carrying Flowers.
So, enjoy reading and listening – there is much more to come! I’d love to know what you think.
Tom
